In today’s economy, small businesses face growing competition from large chains and online retailers. By encouraging people to shop locally through exclusive member perks, Independent Riverside helps keep more money in the local economy, supports local jobs, and helps the unique businesses that make Riverside a great place to live, work and shop.
How do I become a member?+
Simply sign up through our website and purchase a membership. Once you join, you’ll receive your digital member card and can immediately start using exclusive perks at participating Riverside businesses.
How do I use my membership card?+
Show your digital membership card at participating businesses when you’re paying to receive your exclusive member perk or discount. Businesses reserve the right to refuse your membership if not presented with valid photo ID.
What businesses participate?+
Independent Riverside partners with a growing network of independent shops, restaurants, and local services throughout Riverside. Businesses that participate will be displayed on our Independents page on our website. Participating businesses offer exclusive perks available only to members.
How much does membership cost?+
Membership costs $59 per year and gives you access to exclusive perks and discounts at participating independent businesses.
When do my perks start?+
Your membership becomes active immediately after purchase. Once you receive your digital membership card, you can begin using your perks right away.
Is my membership transferable?+
Memberships are not transferable. Member cards are for individual use and may only be used by the registered member. Businesses may request photo ID to verify membership.
How many businesses participate?+
Our network of participating businesses is always growing. New businesses are added regularly, and members are notified when new perks become available.
How do businesses verify my membership?+
Participating businesses simply scan your digital membership card or visually confirm it at checkout with valid photo ID to apply your member perk.
What if I lose access to my membership card?+
Your digital membership card can always be accessed from our membership portal.
Can businesses join Independent Riverside?+
Yes. Independent businesses located in Riverside can apply to become partners and offer exclusive perks to Independent Riverside members.
What is the refund policy? +
Membership fees are non-refundable once activated.
